That is the whole guarantee. There is no fine print because there is no fine print. It is embossed on the brass faceplate of every Perpetua we have ever shipped, and it says what it says.

Why it is called the Perpetua

In 1974 Lorraine was firing ceramic candles in the back of the shop and Vern was on the road selling softeners, and in October our daughter Perpetua was born. Lorraine had the element working by 1977. When it came time to name it, Vern said we should name it after the thing we most expected to outlast us. So we did.

A filter named for your child had better keep its promises. When the lawyer in Green Bay asked how long the guarantee should run, Vern said "as long as she does." The lawyer wrote it down as the life of the structure, which he said was the nearest thing the law had. We have honored it that way for twenty-nine years and we intend to keep honoring it. The plaque is brass because paper gets lost.

What it means for you

If your Perpetua ever fails to do its job, we fix it. Parts, labor, a service call, a replacement element, a new bowl if it comes to that. No charge. No registration card, no receipt, no time limit. The faceplate is your proof of purchase; if it is on the wall, the guarantee is in force. If you bought a house with a Perpetua in it, the guarantee came with the house. It follows the unit, not the owner.
